Prada’s sunnies: ‘From Drawings to Pictures’ exhibit

A Primavera Verão 2011 viu cores neons e bloco de cores invadirem as passarelas, mas ninguém traduziu melhor o espírito da temporada que Miuccia Prada (Carmen Miranda adoraria as estampas de banana!). Em mais uma deslumbrante mistura de arte, moda e diversão, a Prada abre From Drawings to Pictures, mostra que lança dois novos óculos de edição limitada da coleção chamada Minimal Baroque.

Como o nome da mini-exposição explica, a marca convidou três ilustradores para interpretar os óculos através de desenhos, e depois com a Vogue Itália escolheu oito fotógrafos para criar imagens dos óculos inspiradas em histórias em quadrinhos pop. O trabalho pode ser visto nas lojas da Prada em Milão, Nova York, Madrid, Paris, Londres, Istambul e Hong Kong a partir de hoje, onde os óculos também podem ser comprados por em torno de 300 dólares.

SS11 saw neon colours and colour bocking invade the catwalks, but no one translated the summer mood better than Miuccia Prada (Carmen Miranda would love those banana prints!). In an always dazzling mix of art, fashion and fun, Prada opens its latest exhibit, From Drawings to Pictures, which highlights two new, limited edition styles from its Minimal Baroque eyewear collection.

The brand invited three illustrators to interpret the glasses through drawings, then together with Vogue Italia chose eight photographers to create pop/comic-inspired images of the sunnies. The mini-exhibit is on display at Prada stores in Milan, New York, Madrid, Paris, London, Istanbul and Hong Kong starting today, where the shades can be bought for about $300.
