Bowiefest
September 1, 2012
O Bowiefest acontece no ano que o músico comemora 65 e o álbum The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars 40, adiantando-se à exposição de peças de seu guarda-roupas que acontecerá no ano que vem no museu Victoria and Albert.

Vintage festival celebrates the style
August 6, 2011
Post novo para a Dress It!

Set up by the fashion designer Wayne Hemingway and his wife, Gerardine, the second edition of the Vintage festival took place over the 29th, 30th and 31st July 2011 on London’s Southbank Centre.
Taking its lead from the Festival of Britain (1951) and on its second edition, the festival celebrated seven decades of fashion, music and art from the 1920s to the 1980s. Vintage clothes sellers have set up shop; club legend and art muse Sue Tilley organised a catwalk show that revived the brilliant peacock individualism of the 1980 and showed pieces from Vivienne Westwood and a a dinner jacket that was customised by Stephen Jones in the late 70s; there was a ballroom modelled on Wigan Casino, the northern soul club, while other rooms were dedicated to swing, rock’n’roll and disco, with makeup and hair stylists and dance teachers on hand.
Once confined to a small number of enthusiasts, vintage style has been growing in popularity and high street shops such as Marks & Spencer now have vintage-inspired ranges. Shops once called secondhand such as Rokit and Beyond Retro, whose customers include models Kate Moss, Daisy Lowe and Agyness Deyn, offer a huge range of styles from retro and punk to 60’s, 70’s, 80’s plus Mod and military. The first port of call for many renowned stylists, their clothing have been featured in fashion editorials of British, American, Japanese and Italian Vogue, i-D, Dazed and Confused, as well as The Guardian, The Times, The New York Times and The Independent.
As dedicated followers of the vintage style, Visíveis Virtudes visited the festival and loved this bus decorated will all sorts of antiques that was also used as a great place for a photo shoot by the girls on our pictures.
