Em 2006 a Anti-Records, gravadora de Tom Waits e Nick Cave, lançou a compilação Rogue’s Gallery, uma seleção de canções de marinheiros e piratas interpretadas por nomes famosos do mundo pop, indie e folk.

Ambos os CDs são produzidos por Hal Willner e curados por Willner, Johnny Depp e o diretor Gore Verbinski. Son of Roughe’s Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs, and Chanteys deverá ser lançado no dia 19 de fevereiro. Enquanto isso, ouça o primeiro álbum no You Tube:

In 2006, Anti-Records, home of Tom Waits, Nick Cave, published the tons-of-fun compilation Rogue’s Gallery, a selection of sea shanties and pirate songs as interpreted by an ensemble of luminaries from the pop, indie, and folk worlds.

Both CDs are produced by Hal Willner and curated by Willner, Johnny Depp and director Gore Verbinski. Son of Roughe’s Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs, and Chanteys is set for release on February 19th. In the meantime, listen to the two-CD, forty-three track release on YouTube, and have a taste of the coming one with Tom Waits and Keith Richards’ Shenandoah.
