The Met Ball’s anarchic inspiration

Segunda-feira a noite o Met Ball – baile anual de inauguração da exposição de moda do Metropolitan Museum of Art no Costume Institute em Nova York – celebrou a vida e o trabalho de Alexander McQueen e marcou a primeira retrospectiva da carreira do rebelde do design. Sarah Burton vestiu branco em homenagem ao seu mentor e Gisele Bündchen, Sarah Jessica Parker, Naomi Campbell, Karen Elson e Anna Dello Russo estavam entre as famosas que optaram por criações recentes ou vintage de McQueen para a “Festa do Ano”. Dapnhe Guiness se vestiu para o evento em uma vitrine da Barneys e até 15 de maio as vitrines da Bergdorf Goodman complementam a exposição.

Monday night the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the annual Costume Institute Gala celebrated the life and work of Alexander McQueen and marked the first retrospective of the career of a design maverick. Sarah Burton wore white to pay tribute to his mentor and Gisele Bündchen, Sarah Jessica Parker, Naomi Campbell, Karen Elson e Anna Dello Russo were among the famous faces that stepped out in beautiful recent or vintage Alexander McQueen creation to honour the late designer at the “Party of the Year”. Guinness got dressed for the event in the windows at Barneys and until May 15 the Bergdorf Goodman’s windows complement the exhibit.

“Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” opens at the Costume Institute, Metropolitan Museum of Art on Wednesday, May 4 and runs until July 31, 2011.
